For Immediate Release: April 23, 2020
The town of Plainwell located in Allegan County (just outside of Kalamazoo) in Midwest Michigan has had to postpone their upcoming community concerts until further notice due to the restrictions in place surrounding COVID-19. To best serve the health of area residents, the society posted a notice to their website www.PlainwellMusicSociety.com on Wednesday April 22,2020 stating:
"Thank you to our sponsors and patrons for your love of music and for supporting our concerts featuring local musicians. It is with regret we have had to cancel the Plainwell Music Society Concerts for this concert season which would have been our 30th Anniversary. We will truly miss seeing everyone at the band shell. Our plans for our 30th Anniversary Celebration have been postponed until next year when we see you then. At that time we will start our 2021 season with the Plainwell High School Wind Ensemble and Concert Choir followed the next week by the River Cities Concert Band. As performances are permitted please support these groups and other local musicians as they are able to perform once restrictions are lifted".
The Plainwell Music Society, sponsored by community supporters of the arts and local business is looking into possibilities of virtual concerts or different options for the community of Plainwell/Otsego and the surrounding areas to stay musically connected.
If you would like to be a part of the Plainwell Music Society to keep this organization strong, please speak to a board member.

"I am excited to be working with the Plainwell Music Society as the Media Director. I am an '98 graduate of Otsego High School, played the Tuba in the band and sang with the Otsego Singers. I think it is very important that we support the arts, as well as local community, which is what I am looking forward to helping do with the Plainwell Music Society.
I've worked in the Events and Entertainment Industry in many aspect through the years - most recently with Live Nation Events in the Los Angeles Market (2014 to current), as well as producing, directing and acting for film and television as a SAG-AFTRA Actress, and visual artist.
I'm excited to be involved with Plainwell Music Society".
